Image processing, Mobile vision and Pattern recognition lab is a research laboratory of the Department of Engineering and Architecture at the University of Parma, Italy.

The main research projects at IMP lab concern: Deep Learning, Mobile Vision, Object Recognition (Automatic Landmark Recognition), Machine Vision, Image Processing and Pattern Recognition.

Deep Learning

Deep learning is a class of machine learning algorithms that uses multiple layers to progressively extract higher-level features from the raw input. For example, in image processing, lower layers may identify edges, while higher layers may identify the concepts relevant to a human such as digits or letters or faces.

Image Processing

Digital image processing is the use of a digital computer to process digital images through an algorithm.
As a subcategory or field of digital signal processing, digital image processing has many advantages over analog image processing.

Mobile Vision

The field of the computer science that deals with the analysis and understanding of images and videos focused on mobile devices.

Pattern Recognition

Pattern recognition is the automated recognition of patterns and regularities in data.
Pattern recognition algorithms generally aim to provide a reasonable answer for all possible inputs and to perform most likely matching of the inputs, taking into account their statistical variation.
