How to directly edit your script on a remote server

Everyone that code a lot has encountered the problem of working on a remote server. The server is very common used due to huge number of GPUs available.

So, every time that you need to modify your script you needed to locally modify and then upload it on the server (through scp command).

But, there is the solution for our problem!

  1. Install atom : a very powerful text editor (available for Windows, Ubuntu and MAC).
  2. Open the editor.
  3. Install the “remote-edit-ni” package (Edit -> Preferences -> Install -> Type “remote-edit-ni”).
  4. Configure the remote connection (Packages -> Remote Edit -> Add New Host (sftp)).
  5. Connect to the remote server (Packages -> Remote Edit -> Browse Hosts).

That’s all.
